Shantoon fabric also known as shantung fabric originated in Shandong, China. It’s a crisp fabric and its lightness causes it to drape elegantly and easily. It is similar to Dupion Silk but slightly thinner and less irregular.

Designers generally use this fabric for making menswear and womens wear garments. This is popularly used as lining in premium garments.

Washing Instruction of Shantoon Fabric

• Shantoon fabric can generally be washed in a washing machine.

• Iron Shantoon fabric on a low heat setting to avoid scorching or damaging the fibers.
